About Us

We are a group of volunteers who work in the London Boroughs of Croydon and Bromley and have formed ourselves into a voluntary organisation called Summers Trust.

Many of our volunteers currently work within education as teachers and have recognised that some children don't get an opportunity to experience a holiday environment due to social or economic barriers. We have therefore established ourselves as a group to meet this need.

With a proven holiday formula, developed with over 25 years experience, we help these children, from multi-ethnic backgrounds, to form relationships with each other, with adults and young adults at a very important stage in their life; the transition from primary to secondary education.

Summers Trust provides holidays so that children can experience new activities in an environment that will encourage team building and communication skills. The holidays help to instil self confidence, self reliance and improve the self esteem of the children while providing them with lifelong memories.

The holidays therefore have a dual role:

To enrich the lives of children in need of such a holiday and to enable young volunteers to contribute to their local community.
